CHASKA, Minn. – If the 41st Ryder Cup is going to be Phil Mickelson’s final start in the biennial matches, he produced a fitting swan song on Saturday afternoon.
Paired with Matt Kuchar, Mickelson rolled in birdie putts at the 10th, 14th, 15th and 17th holes to beat Martin Kaymer and Sergio Garcia, 2 and 1.
“I knew this was something we would have loved to have done for many years now, and now we get to do it in the greatest pressure situation,” Mickelson said.
