For the third time in its history, the PGA Tour has suspended a player for the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
Scott Stallings, 30, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, violated the Tour's Anti-Doping Program and has received a three-month suspension. The term began July 7. He can return to the Tour on Oct. 7.
According to a Tour statement July 7 that announced the suspension, Stallings took a supplement that contained an item on the prohibited list and self-reported the potential violation to the Tour.
“I discovered in February 2015 that I had inadvertently taken a supplement for the prior two months that was not permitted by the PGA Tour," Stallings said in the Tour statement.
