PGA notes: Play suspended with Day, Jones leading; Stricker continues streak

MOSEL, Wis. –– Aussies Jason Day and Matt Jones were rolling along quite nicely late Friday afternoon at the PGA Championship before the sky opened up and high winds and heavy rain wreaked havoc on Whistling Straits.

Play was halted at 5:28 p.m. local time and then suspended for the day shortly after with Day and Jones tied for the lead at 9 under, a shot ahead of Englishman Justin Rose, who will have to play one hole, the par-4 18th, when play resumes at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Day, who was 5 under on his round, was through 14 holes while Jones, also 5 under for the day, had completed 12 holes.
