Suzann Pettersen recently sat down with Golf Channel’s Tim Rosaforte at her Orlando, Fla., home for her first interview since the controversial Solheim Cup.
While Pettersen didn’t exactly say what she would’ve done differently on the 17th hole (an odd omission), she admitted that she shouldn’t have taken the win-at-all-costs approach.
“I never won a point that I felt so bad in my entire life,” she said. “I feel like it just took away the greatness of the Solheim, which I think is the best competition there is for women’s golf.”
Pettersen said she’d watched the video of what transpired on the 17th green Sunday morning in her match against Alison Lee and Brittany Lincicome many times and understood why so many fans felt she’d violated the spirit of the game.
