Lydia Ko and Suzann Pettersen seized a share of the first-round lead Friday at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, setting up a possible weekend showdown between top-10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings.
Ko and Pettersen both opened the Ladies European Tour event with 4-under-par 68s. They’re one shot ahead of France’s Celine Herbin.
Ko, 18, the Rolex world No. 2, didn’t make a bogey at Dundonald Links in North Ayrshire.
“I kind of didn’t know what score to expect, because the course is pretty tough, even without the wind,” Ko said.
