LANCASTER, Pa. – The cut was made at a record-tying low Friday at the U.S. Women’s Open.
Sixty-three players made the cut at 144, a stroke total equaling the U.S. Women’s Open low mark set at Old Waverly in Mississippi in 1999. The cut was at 4-over at the par-70 Lancaster Country Club course. It was at even par at Old Waverly, where par was 72.
A large contingent of top players failed to advance to the weekend at Lancaster Country Club, including Suzann Pettersen, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome, Anna Nordqvist, Hyo Joo Kim, Catriona Matthew and Yani Tseng.
