A West Coast Conference legend has earned her ticket to big time recognition.
Laurie Gibbs, the women's golf coach at Pepperdine, will be inducted into the Women’s Golf Coaches Association' Coaches Hall of Fame, the organization announced on Monday.
She'll join the 47 others already in the Hall, a list that includes other women's golf luminaries Andrea Gaston, Mic Potter and Carrie Forsyth.
Gibbs, in her 23rd season at Pepperdine, has turned the Waves into an annual force out west. In the past 17 years, Gibbs has lead Pepperdine to 11 NCAA Championship appearances. In those 11 starts, the Waves earned eight top-fives and four top-fives.
