Pepperdine inks top Western Australian junior women's golfer Hira Naveed

Hira Naveed, the 2015 Western Australia Junior Girls Golfer of the Year, followed in a long line of Australian players by joining Pepperdine’s women’s golf team this spring, Waves coach Laurie Gibbs announced today.

“We are excited to have Hira become a member of our team this spring,” Gibbs said. “She is a very talented player who has tremendous international experience. Hira is a delightful young lady and we look forward to her joining our roster of great players.”

In 2015, Naveed won at both the 2015 Dunes Medal and Victorian Junior Masters events. She also helped Australia to the team victory in the Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship as the top 17-year-old in the field, and competed in the Western Australia Open, which is a men’s event, and shot a 73 from the men’s tees during prequalifying.
