Solihull, England – Remember the name Marco Penge. The 16-year-old Englishman might just have a big future in golf.
Penge certainly looked like the real deal April 16 when he tied a tournament record with an eight-shot victory in the Peter McEvoy Trophy, one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious junior tournaments.
Penge opened 65-71-70 at the par-71 Copt Heath Golf Club before closing with a 66 that got him to 12-under 272. That score matched the low 72-hole total that was first set by John Parry in 2004 and matched by Nathan Kimsey in 2011.
Penge finished eight shots ahead of 2013 champion Bradley Moore.
