PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — There is a new age with a new-found love here on the PGA Tour stage.
At least that appears to be a thought process that runs like this: A week after yet another 23-year-old, Hideki Matsuyama, won a tournament, the field is deep and the passion renewed for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
But amid the glitter produced by brilliant warmth and sunshine, an older sense of perspective offered a reminder that the love affair with this week’s tournament is an old story.
David Duval, 44, is more Golf Channel than PGA Tour these days, far more a family man than a travelin’ man, but when it comes to this “clambake” on the Monterey Peninsula, he is all in.
