TURNBERRY, Scotland — Top-ranked Inbee Park shot a 7-under 65 in the final round to win the Women's British Open by three shots on Sunday, becoming the seventh female player to capture four different majors.
Fellow South Korean Jin-Young Ko, the long-time leader in the fourth round, needed a hole-in-one at the par-4 No. 18 to force a playoff at Turnberry. The 20-year-old major debutant didn't reach the green.
The LPGA Tour is calling Park's achievement a career Grand Slam, although she hasn't won the Evian Championship since it was given the status of a fifth major in 2013.
