Inbee Park’s pursuit of world No. 1 Lydia Ko and the LPGA’s most important season-long awards appears in jeopardy with her withdrawal because of injury from the Blue Bay LPGA in China.
Park withdrew Thursday night after shooting a 75 in the first round and complaining of pain in the middle finger of her left hand. She told LPGA staff that she has been dealing with a cyst on the finger for about three weeks, and she is unsure when she will be able to tee it up again. After this week’s event, there are just three more LPGA tournaments left on the 2015 schedule.
