RYE, N.Y. –– Inbee Park isn’t a vengeful person. Quite the opposite, really. But there’s got to be a small part of her that’s eager to get one back on Sei Young Kim, the young rookie who chipped in for birdie to force a playoff against Park last April in Hawaii and then holed out for eagle to win the tournament.
Park chalked it up as a lucky shot, but then took it back.
“It seems like she holes out a lot,” Park said laughing, “so maybe it was just the usual.”
Two years ago, Kim aced the penultimate hole at a Korean LPGA major to force a playoff against So Yeon Ryu, and then beat her with birdie on the first extra hole.
