Paphangkorn Tavatanakit came out firing on Friday at Reynolds Lake Oconee’s Great Waters Course, and the fast start led her straight to the winner’s circle.
A final-round 3-under 69 at the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions boosted Tavatanakit from two behind to three in front, as she captured her third AJGA victory and first invitational win.
It was aggressive execution that got the job done. Tavatanakit, of Thailand, birdied her first two holes and four of her first nine to go out in 4-under 32 and snatch away the lead from Yu Sang Hou.
Tavatanakit only produced eight pars and a bogey coming, but it’s all she needed to hold off Hou.
