Rod Pampling narrowly missed out on some rarified air, as the Aussie parred his final two holes to shoot an 11-under 60 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Pampling's score tied the course record set by J.J. Henry during the opening round in 2013, and it gave him an early two-shot lead over John Huh.
Pampling sparked his round with a 134-yard hole-out for eagle on No. 6, then added another eagle when his approach from 233 yards on the par-5 16th rolled to within 6 inches of the hole.
