Rod Pampling torched The Australian Golf Club course for a 10-under 61 on Sunday, taking the clubhouse lead at 6 under in the Australian Open.
Pampling, who was runner-up to Jordan Spieth in last year's Open, started with a bogey, then made nine birdies across his next 16 holes before slamming in a cross-country eagle putt at the 18th.
"The day didn't start out as I planned, but that's the way it goes," Pampling said. "I knew I'd been hitting it well all week, just couldn't get anything going.
