Ryann O'Toole and Angela Stanford posted opening rounds of 7-under 65 to share the LPGA's Toto Japan Classic lead.
O'Toole got off to a hot start with 5-under 31 front nine that included an eagle-2. O'Toole holed out from more than 100 yards with a gap wedge at No. 4, her 13th hole on the day.
“I struck the ball really well and I also putted very well,” O’Toole told LPGA.com. “The putts that I missed were the ones that I misread so I was rolling it really well. It was just one of those days where you point, aim and shoot.
