India’s Aditi Ashok rode the momentum of her Olympic success through the first stage of LPGA Q-School Sunday in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Ashok closed with a 2-over-par 74 Sunday on the Dinah Shore course to finish tied for 20th at 1-under-par 287. She was among 92 players in the field of 347 to advance to second stage. Ashok, 18, made a strong impression in Rio de Janeiro making a run atop the leaderboard in the second round of the Olympic competition. She was the youngest player in the Olympic field. She is a Ladies European Tour rookie who was 17 when she became the youngest winner of LET Q-School late last year.
