SEBRING, Fla. – Jessica Porvasnik got a bit of a shock when she stepped onto the first tee at the 61st Harder Hall Invitational. It was Day 3, and the Ohio State junior had played her way into the final group. Porvasnik couldn’t believe the number of folks on the first tee. And then, the barrage of golf carts started to follow.
“They’re right there,” said Porvasnik of the spectators’ close proximity.
There aren’t any ropes at Harder Hall. Fans following the final group drive right up the middle of the fairway, eventually circling the green. Those on foot are generally outnumbered and spend the day trying to get out of the way.
