Oddsmakers like World No. 2 Jason Day to repeat at Torrey Pines

Australian Jason Day, the current World No. 2, has played only one time since the calendar turned, a tie for 10th at the winners-only Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Last year in the Farmers Insurance Open, which returns to Torrey Pines in San Diego this week, Day defeated Harris English, J.B. Holmes and Scott Stallings in a playoff. The title would trigger a five-victory season, including the PGA Championship, for Day, who enters this week’s Farmers Insurance Open as the 6-1 favorite of oddsmakers.

Fowler, who moved up to No. 4 in the world after his victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, is a 10-1 pick this week.
