SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Anna Nordqvist made some ball-striking history Thursday at the U.S. Women’s Open.
She hit all 18 greens in regulation on her way to shooting a 4-under-par 68 at CordeValle Golf Club.
She is the first player to hit every green in regulation in a U.S. Women’s Open since the USGA began keeping the stat in 1986.
“I didn’t really hit a bad shot or get myself in trouble,” Nordqvist said.
Nordqvist, who won the LPGA Championship in 2009, fits the mode for a U.S. Women’s Open contender. She hits a lot of fairways and greens.
