With Sunday’s victory at the ShopRite Classic, Nordqvist claimed Europe’s first LPGA title since she won the Kia Classic in March of 2014. Nordqvist has claimed the last three LPGA titles won by Europeans. It’s been almost 20 months since a European other than Nordqvist has won an LPGA event. Suzann Pettersen is the last Euro beside Nordqvist to win. Pettersen won the Taiwan Championship in October of 2013.
Nordqvist, 27, came from a shot behind Morgan Pressel in the final round Sunday at ShopRite to win. It’s Nordqvist’s fifth career LPGA title.
