Nick Montes, a class-of-2016 recruit from Pickerington, Ohio, verbally committed to play college golf at Kent State.
Montes, the top-ranked class-of-2016 golfer out of Ohio, is a rising senior at Pickerington High School North. He also received interest from Ohio State, West Virginia and Akron.
Montes said that Kent State's facilities and success on the course appealed to him during the decision-making process. He has five top-25 finishes at AJGA events, including a T-7 at the 2014 Memorial Junior.
