SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Cristie Kerr might raise a toast to the new driver she put into play at this week’s U.S. Women’s Open, for it helped the 2007 champion open with a 5-under 67. The winemaker feels at home here at CordeValle, where the holes are lined with vineyards.
Kerr feels even more at peace in the middle of the fairway, a place she hadn’t seen as much in 2016. After going through five drivers in 2016, Kerr believes she has found the right fit in the new PXG Elite 11X. She also returned to an old shaft.
