NBC golf analyst Mark Rolfing will not be a part of any Golf Channel or NBC broadcasts for the remainder of the year as he battles salivary gland cancer, according to the Associated Press.
Rolfing, who lives on Maui, Hawaii, had surgery to remove a malignant growth from his left cheek on Aug. 13 and will undergo the second phase of treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
“Debi and I would like to thank everyone for their incredible support and well-wishes, which have been incredibly valuable,” said Rolfing in a statement. “My doctors and I are confident that by the end of the next phase of treatment, this cancer will be cured.
