My Bag: Paul Dunne, 2015 Open Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – When Titleist started asking PGA Tour players how the company should change the next generation Pro V1 golf ball, the most common answer was, “I’m happy with the Pro V1, don’t change anything.”

Flattering. But when pressed, pros said if they did not have to give up anything, a little more spin around the greens and a softer feel would be nice.

With the release of the latest version of the Pro V1 balls at the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show, Titleist aims to make those players happy.

In 2013, a byproduct of the new cover and paint applied to the Pro V1 ball was a softer sound, especially in the Pro V1x.
