Experience is overrated.
Jimmy Mullen, 21 years old and making his professional debut, fired a 3-under 69 at St. Andrews on Friday, moving him to 11 under total and into a share of the 36-hole lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The Englishman also co-led on Thursday following an opening 64 at Kingsbarn. Mullen, who shined at the Walker Cup three weeks ago with a 4-0 record, is already having a memorable opening salvo.
"I was just out there trying to enjoy it and learn and to be at the top of the leaderboard is, I can't really explain," Mullen said.
