He tied for fifth at the French Open, seventh at the BMW PGA Championship, fifth at the Irish Open and sixth at the Spanish Open, but something always was just a bit off - at least until this week.
The German followed his opening 66 with a second-round 69 and was tied for fourth place when he completed his round on Friday at the PGA Championship.
Asked what the difference has been this week at Baltusrol, his answer was telling.
“I'm a little bit more patient,” Kaymer said. “I don't force the putts or I don't get that frustrated if I don't make the birdie putts because I played really well the last two, three months.
