A spot in a limited-field event proved to be enough incentive to bring Francesco Molinari off the disabled list.
Molinari injured his wrist last month at the Valero Texas Open, and while he played the following week in Houston he tweeted on April 16 that the injury would keep him sidelined until at least the Spanish Open, held May 14-17.
At No. 66 in the world, Molinari is in line to receive a spot in the 64-man field at next week's WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship after Tim Clark withdrew earlier this week.
