Spider Miller will get another shot to captain the U.S. Walker Cup team in 2017, even after the Americans suffered their worst-ever loss in the biennial event.
The USGA followed tradition and tabbed Miller, 64, for a second assignment at Los Angeles Country Club. The U.S. team is coming off a seven-point loss to Great Britain and Ireland at Royal Lytham in September, but the Americans haven’t lost on home soil since 2003.
“I am indeed humbled and honored to have the opportunity to captain another group of such fine players and countrymen,” Miller said in a release.
