LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England – The U.S. Walker Cup team is relaxed and rearing to go on the eve of the biennial matches between the U.S. and Great Britain & Ireland.
Arriving at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club Monday, U.S. Captain John “Spider” Miller and his 10 charges have had more than enough time to experience the course that has hosted 11 British Opens with a virtual who’s who of golf winning the Claret Jug, beginning with Bobby Jones in the first championship at Lytham in 1926 and continuing with Bobby Locke, Peter Thomson, Bob Charles, Tony Jacklin, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Lehman, David Duval and Ernie Els.
