Miller says 'dream come true' to broadcast British Open (The Associated Press)

Johnny Miller can't wait to get back in the broadcast booth for a major championship where he won with a great closing round.

Only he will be at Royal Birkdale, not Oakmont.

Miller says he was thrilled that NBC Sports Group has the U.S. television rights for the British Open starting in 2017. NBC agreed to a 12-year deal with the R&A. That means Golf Channel gets its first live men's major for the weekday rounds.

The Open will be at Royal Birkdale in 2017, where Miller closed with a 66 to beat 19-year-old Seve Ballesteros and Jack Nicklaus in 1976.
