CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Phil Mickelson has six top-5 finishes at the Wells Fargo Championship, finishing second in 2010, third in ’07 and ’13, fourth this year and fifth in ’04 and ’09.
The only number he’s missing is first, a goal that eluded him again this week despite his lowest four-round total (12 under) in a dozen trips to Quail Hollow Club.
Still, Mickelson was pleased with his first top-10 finish at a non-major since the 2012 Barclays.
“I had a good week as far as building momentum and improving the areas that I needed to work on,” said Mickelson, who closed with a 68.
