It was a tale of two nines at the FedEx St. Jude Classic for Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka.
Mickelson, who made the turn in 4 under, lost his touch on the back at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., failing to make a birdie and finishing his day at 2-under 68 after bogeys at Nos. 4 and 8, both par 3s.
Koepka, on the other hand, finished on a positive note. The 25-year-old started at No. 10 and played the back nine in 2 under. He capitalized on the front, coupling six birdies with two bogeys to play it in 4-under 31 and card a 6-under 64.
