SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Phil Mickelson said his inner child was awakened after he dropped on his bottom and intentionally slid down a steep, grassy slope at the eighth hole Friday at Whistling Straits.
He said it inspired him to begin looking for other cool hillocks that would make good slides at the PGA Championship.
“I started wondering if this would be a good place, or that would be a good place,” Mickelson said after posting a 6-under-par 66 Saturday.
Mickelson made a lot of highlights a day earlier for somebody who shot 73. The video of his scoot down the hill went viral.
