Five-time major champion Phil Mickelson and legendary swing coach Butch Harmon have parted ways, according to a published report.
"I've learned a great deal from him in our eight years together," Mickelson said in a statement to Golf.com. "It's just that at the moment I need to hear new ideas from a different perspective."
Mickelson's last victory came at the 2013 Open at Muirfield and his most recent win on U.S. soil was at the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier that year.
At TPC Scottsdale, Lefty shot an opening-round 60 that was nearly a 59 after his putt on his final hole lipped out.
