Days after his much-debated addition to the U.S. Presidents Cup team, Phil Mickelson expressed optimism about both his game and next month's matches.
Mickelson was selected by U.S. captain Jay Haas despite finishing 30th in the two-year qualification race. This was the first time Mickelson has failed to automatically qualify for a team event since 1994, but the pick extends his streak of playing in every Presidents Cup since the event's inception 21 years ago.
"I've come to realize over the course of my career how much I love and appreciate the team events that we have," Mickelson said Friday on "Morning Drive.
