While some marquee players are content to merely say they won’t play again “for a while” – whatever that means – there are those such as Phil Mickelson who don’t mind announcing their plans.
Days after finishing tied for second in the Masters, Mickelson confirmed that he’s committed to another of his favorite tournaments, the Wells Fargo Championship (May 14-17) in Charlotte, N.C.
It will mark the lefthander’s 12th consecutive appearance at the Quail Hollow Club, having missed just the debut in 2003, and no argument about his effectiveness there; Mickelson has seven top 10s, including a runner-up finish to Rory McIlroy in 2010.
