Mickelson (69) off to another solid start in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It doesn’t hang over his legacy like his missing U.S. Open title, but Phil Mickelson’s history at Quail Hollow Club is certainly a vacant spot on an otherwise impressive resume.

In a dozen starts at the Wells Fargo Championship Lefty has done everything except win, finishing second in 2010, third in 2007 and ’13 and never missing a cut.

On Thursday, Mickelson got off to another solid start in his quest to get on the board in Charlotte, overcoming two bogeys on the front nine for a 3-under 69 that left him tied for 10th place.
