Seconds after Megan Khang turned right onto LPGA Boulevard, her father asked a serious question: Do you want to turn pro?
They were en route to a SunCoast Series event at LPGA International on Nov. 23, a sort of warm-up for this week’s LPGA Q-School.
“I thought about it for a while,” said Khang. “Yeah, why not? It’s what I want to do with my life.”
And so Khang, an 18-year-old from Rockland, Mass., decided to turn professional as their car rolled through the gates where the LPGA calls home. She finished tied for fourth but can’t recall the amount of her first paycheck.
