DORAL, Fla. — Many years ago, Brad Faxon was playing a practice round at Pebble Beach when a short-game coach asked if he could tag along.
“Sure,” Faxon said. “But why?”
The coach said that he admired Faxon’s putting prowess, which truly was no surprise. Renowned as a great putter, Faxon has never not stopped to discuss the topic and offer suggestions when approached.
“You do what I teach,” the coach told Faxon.
Several steps were taken, then Faxon stopped and asked, “What do I do?”
The coach replied that Faxon “led with the left hand,” and the PGA Tour veteran just shook his head.
