SAN FRANCISCO – A successful week at Harding Park could make for a hectic travel schedule for Rory McIlroy.
The world No. 1 has secured ringside seats to the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight in Las Vegas on Saturday night, but he’ll be hard-pressed for time if he makes it through to the quarterfinals of the WGC-Cadillac Match Play.
The final tee time Saturday afternoon is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. local time. Let’s say he plays in three-and-a-half hours – that’d give him about two hours before the fight is scheduled to start.
“Nothing a few birdies won’t change if I try to win, 7 and 6,” he joked Tuesday.
