Rory McIlroy says he’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t win this week’s $2.65 million Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Most Challenge Tour and Qualifying School graduates would be happy just to be in the field.
While McIlroy expects to win his third Desert Classic after winning last year and in 2009, his first victory as a professional, very few graduates have been given a chance to play.
“You often hear pros talk about the positives when they leave tournaments without a win,” said McIlroy, who won the season-ending DP World Championship in November. “I often do that myself.
