The hot takes were flying on social media on Thursday after Jordan Spieth signed for a 5-over 76 in his title defense at the Valspar Championship.
And while the world No. 1 wasn't too pleased, taking the time to personally respond, he got some support from one of his biggest rivals, Rory McIlroy.
Responding to a tweet from ESPN's Jason Sobel suggesting some of the ludicrous opinions he'd seen floating around the Twittersphere, McIlroy went to bat for Spieth, reminding everyone of the obvious - he's a 22-year-old two-time major winner who isn't slumping, isn't done and also isn't Tiger Woods.
