ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – When Graeme McDowell landed in Orlando, Fla., late last Monday following a playoff victory at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, he admitted he considered withdrawing from this week’s RSM Classic.
Last week’s victory clarified the Northern Irishman’s schedule going into next year and few would have blamed him for starting his winter break a week early, but his wife convinced him to take the drive north to Sea Island Resort for one more tournament.
Although he wasn’t able to catch Kevin Kisner, who cruised to his first Tour title with a closing 64, McDowell finished alone in third place to solidify his rebound from his worst full season on Tour.
