Maverick McNealy takes No. 1 spot in World Amateur Golf Ranking

Stanford junior Maverick McNealy has taken the top spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, displacing Arizona State's Jon Rahm.

McNealy earned his seventh collegiate individual title last week at the Olympia Fields Country Club Illini Invitational, where he beat out Rahm by eight shots. He was the 2015 Haskins Award winner and a member of the 2015 U.S. Walker Cup team.

Rahm held the No. 1 spot at the right time, however. The 2015 Hogan Award winner earned British and U.S. Open invites after receiving the Mark H. McCormack Medal in August.
