GULLANE, Scotland – Matt Kuchar couldn’t be happier to be in Scotland.
Rain fell so hard Tuesday on the interview-room roof at Gullane Golf Club, site of this week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, that the affable, soft-spoken American was hard to hear. Kuchar nonetheless sat, smiling and talking about how delighted he was with play that recently has begun producing quality results again.
In his most recent event, Kuchar tied for 12th at the U.S. Open three weeks ago. It was his best result in the national championship since a T-6 in 2010 at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
