Matt Jones never lost the lead Sunday at the Australian Open, but his one-shot victory didn't lack excitement.
Jones, who entered the final round at The Australian Golf Club three shots clear of Jordan Spieth, survived some early troubles before holding off Spieth, Adam Scott and Rod Pampling for the win.
Jones made a bogey, double bogey and triple bogey on the front nine, and then holed out a bunker shot to save par at the 12th hole. He saw Spieth, Scott and Pampling all tie him for the lead at one point until Jones birdied the 16th hole to take the lead for good.
