SAN FRANCISCO – Will everyone show on Friday?
That is a question that many observers were wondering entering the third round and last day of pool play in the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship at TPC Harding Park.
Of the 64 players who started in Wednesday’s first round, 22 were eliminated from advancing to the weekend. Eighteen of the 22 are 0-2 going into Friday, and four matches pit two 0-2 players against one another in the ultimate of professional futility.
Though none of the 0-2s can make the top 16 who will play on the weekend, much is at stake.
