BLUFFTON, S.C. –– Brandon Mancheno is beginning to rack up the USGA medals.
Eight days ago, he shared medalist honors at the U.S. Amateur qualifier at Ocala (Fla.) National Golf Club. Wednesday, he finished alone atop the stroke-play leaderboard at the U.S. Junior Amateur at Colleton River Plantation Club.
“Means a lot to medal with all these good players in the field,” Mancheno said. “They’ve all done great things.”
Mancheno can count himself among that group now. He notched a pair of T-2 finishes in AJGA Junior All-Star events this year but had to withdraw from his most recent AJGA event in May with a right wrist injury.
